The first step to shooting great pictures is having an understanding of the camera. If you think of the camera like a human eye, the lens, iris and retina are exactly the same as the camera lens, the aperture and the light sensitive area to record what is taking place, whether it be film or digital. This introduction workshop helps those film shooters transition to digital, and gives the digital photo enthusiast all necessary tools in which to create better images. Mastering your camera, exposure, composition, understanding light all help you create images that stand out. Knowing how to shoot raw, understanding workflow, image management and some key photoshop basics will have you confident in any situation after this one day workshop. Participants are required to bring digital camera, laptop and HD to store images.

This workshop covers everything you need to know about getting your images ready for final use. Preparing images for printing, web use. Workflow, shooting Raw, blending, layers, healing, cloning, levels, curves, retouching and everything else you need to know to get your images ready for print and bring your image quality to a higher level.

Participants should bring laptop, tablet, and a disk or drive with raw files to work on. This is a hands on workshop with lots of time working on your own images.

Imagine you have a limited time with a subject. Maybe it’s your first assignment for a magazine or your first opportunity shooting a professional model. What do you do? How do you light it? What do you need to bring? How do you decide on the best options to shoot? How do you do 2 set ups? These are questions that distinguish the seasoned professional from the amateur. In this workshop you will get the opportunity to learn from a professional, and take your work to the next level. Here you will get the chance to shoot studio images and have a professional photographer coach you along the way. This workshop will cover shooting portraits or models in studio for portfolio or assignment photography. Participants will have the opportunity to have their work critiqued by an industry professional as well have questions answered. This course is an advanced hands on opportunity to use professional studio lighting, reflectors and grip equipment. Students are required to bring camera, flash, lightmeter and laptop if applicable.

2 day Weekend Fashion Workshop

If you are a new photographer and are striving to be the best you can be, this is the workshop for you. If you have a pretty good handle of lighting but are in desperate need of real models to shoot, this is your workshop. If you need more experience on shoots, directing subjects and working with hair and makeup, models and clients, this tailored workshop just for you.

This intermediate to advanced level workshop is specific for those with a fashion focus to their work and have an understanding of light. It is a 2 day intensive fashion workshop with the first day being foundation and the second day coached shooting of a model in studio. Participants will learn all aspects of creating strong fashion sessions from creative direction to directing models, makeup, styling as well as post production and skin retouching from industry professionals.

portfolio level content is expected to be achieved through this extensive workshop.
