Very nice shots and a very lovely camera! I had a black 500C/M w. the same label from 1991. I had it only for about one year, and then sold it, perhaps a mistake but I think maybe I wasn´t ready for it but now I think I am, I should look for a new Hassy! Thanks for inspiration!

Hey there Carty…here’s your flashback for the day. I worked at Black’s at Yonge & St Clair at the same time James Frallick did, maybe early 90′s. I remember printing a series of photos you guys took of a very pretty Italian girl, maybe one of your first shoots. At some point you gave me a small poster of you and I think it was called Mankind. You signed it and said “Keep this…maybe one day I’ll be famous.” I still have it and I still have some of those photos (mostly the duds that needed correction.) I, for one, am very pleased to see your success…and you are one badass photog :)

Hi Steve,

My Hasselblad 500CM is STILL my main camera for product and food and I’ve even shot dance with it. I was very fortunate to find a used Phase One back for it so it continues to be a workhorse. What i love most is its simplicity – two controls: aperture and shutter speed. :-) Your photos look awesome! It’s very tempting for me to load up some film again since i still have the film back. Hmmmm.

not really guillermo. all noise is created from under exposure. in every case. i suggest some work on your exposure. bad exposure in camera, always equals a noisy final.
